Here in Weissenbach/Rio Bianco, you can experience authentic South Tyrolean flair. Our village lies in a picturesque side valley of the Ahrntal, in Italian called Valle Aurina, and is surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery. Our restaurant, the "Schnaidaleachn", is located a little further into the valley than the village and is embraced by nature. In this idyllic setting, we focus not only on beauty and cosiness, but also on providing a great culinary experience.

During the summer you can enjoy the tradition of South Tyrol on the sun terrace and let the sun’s rays warm you. To fully appreciate the peace and quiet in the midst of nature, our deckchairs offer the perfect retreat.

We warmly invite you to our charming restaurant, which will impress you with its rustic ambience, to enjoy a varied selection of South Tyrolean specialities as well as national as well as regional delicacies. With great dedication and attention to detail, we create a variety of tasty dishes prepared with fresh, regional ingredients and the best gifts nature has to offer. Our aim is to bring our passion for cooking to the table in every single bite and offer you a culinary experience that will transport you into a world of pleasure.

Whether for company parties or family celebrations such as christenings, first communions, weddings or any other festive occasion, we are here for you. If you are planning to come with a larger group, we recommend that you book our restaurant in advance so that we can ensure you sufficient space. Simply contact us and we will be happy to take care of your individual requirements! For our younger guests, there is also a playground with a sandpit, swings and more.

Your hosts

We grew up here, deeply rooted in nature and familiar with the habits of the old mountain traditions. The simple, down-to-earth way of life, following the examples set by our grandparents and parents, is just right for us. Everything they taught us is worth its weight in gold. The recipes from a farmer’s wife’s old cookery books allow us to prepare the best dishes – and that's how we make our guests happy!

Natural environment

We are located at 1,440 metres above sea level, surrounded by mountains. In winter and well into spring, you can enjoy romantic landscapes, a cross-country ski trail, a toboggan run as well as ski tours and snowshoe hikes. In summer and autumn, you can explore the lush green alpine meadows on foot or by mountain bike and enjoy a refreshing mountain breeze on warm days. Our hut is the perfect starting point for various hikes. We’ve got something for the whole family, whether it's the adventurous alpine hike to the Gögealm hut, the fascinating herb hike or the invigorating Kneipp trail. We offer free parking for our restaurant guests.
